Thinking of paying for a hookup site? Check it first
Most casual sites let you sign up for nothing. The bill arrives at the exciting bit: someone has "messaged" you, and you have to pay to read it. That is exactly the moment to stop and ask four questions. Who owns this site? How will it bill me? What do its terms admit about the profiles? And what do people who paid say happened next?
Our site checks answer those questions for named sites, one at a time, each one dated. A check goes up only after a person has tested the site and a second editor has matched every finding to a source, so the list grows slowly on purpose; as of 17 October 2026, none has cleared that bar yet. Until the site you're eyeing has a check, the same page has a ten-minute version you can run yourself before you hand over a card number.

The same five checks for every site, this one included
- Company and domain records. A named company, where it is registered, and whether the website says the same thing as the terms.
- Prices and the billing name. What each plan costs, how it renews, and the name that will appear on your statement.
- The terms. Any clause about paid, automated or "not what they seem" profiles, plus refunds and where disputes go.
- User reports. Complaints and refund stories from regulators and review sites, each one dated and sourced.
- What we couldn't confirm. Listed, not quietly dropped.

What our own small print says
Just Naughty Singles is run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, and the member terms are the contract you agree to when you join. The parts worth knowing before you pay:
- Delaware law applies, disputes go to arbitration rather than court, and you waive the right to join a class action.
- Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing.
- Refunds are pro-rata, and only when at least 40% of the paid period is left.
- Your profile is shared with partner sites in the same network, and their members can see and message you.

Is that profile a real person? Five tells
- Replies in seconds, at 4am, every time. People sleep and work. Scripts don't.
- Flattery with no detail. Nothing in the message shows they read your profile.
- A push to pay, or to move to another app. Usually just as things get interesting.
- Photos that look like a shoot. Studio lighting, perfect angles, nothing from an ordinary day.
- A story that shifts. The age, the town or the job changes between messages.

Billing traps that catch people out
The classic ones: a cheap trial that quietly becomes a full-price membership, a card statement with a name you've never heard of, and messages or "credits" that cost extra on top of the membership you already bought. Another member asking you to "verify" on a different site with your card is not a billing trap. It's a scam.

- England, Wales and Northern Ireland: Report Fraud, online or on 0300 123 2040.
- Scotland: Police Scotland on 101.
- United States: the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
- Canada: the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
- Australia: ReportCyber if you've lost money or personal details, Scamwatch otherwise.

Is Just Naughty Singles legit?
It's a working casual dating site run by Ambervine Inc. Our check of ourselves, using the same method we apply to every site, isn't finished yet; when it's published it will list what we could and couldn't confirm. Until then, read the member terms and note the billing name at checkout before you pay.
What does it cost?
Nothing to sign up, build a profile or browse. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership. The members area shows the price of each plan before you pay.
Is there an age limit?
18 or over, or 21 in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and Wyoming.
Will my profile show up on other sites?
Yes. One member database is shared with partner sites in the same network, so their members can see and message you. Write your profile with that in mind.
How do I stop paying, or leave for good?
Memberships renew automatically until you switch that off in Settings > Billing. To leave for good, go to your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account.
Are members verified?
Not in the way some sites claim. Profile photos are reviewed and there's an optional paid ID badge, but nobody checks what members say about themselves, so read the fake-profile guide.
